Pre and Post Instructions for Laser Hair Removal
Thank you for arranging your Laser Hair Removal treatment with Essence Aesthetics. To ensure your safety and achieve the best possible results, please adhere to the following instructions.
Before Your Treatment:
1. Refrain from waxing, tweezing, colouring, using depilatory creams, or undergoing electrolysis on the treatment area for a minimum of 4 weeks before and throughout your entire treatment course. Shaving and clipping are permitted as often as desired.
2. On the morning of your scheduled treatment, unless instructed otherwise, shave the treatment area.
3. Avoid using harsh exfoliating cleansers or scrubs, bleaching creams, or retinoids (Retin-A) on the treated area 3 days before and 3 days after the treatment.
4. Steer clear of direct and prolonged sun exposure to the treated area 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after the treatment. Apply sunscreen of at least 30 SPF every 2 hours when exposed to the sun.
After Your Treatment:
1. Apply Aftercare gel 2-4 times a day for at least 3 days after each treatment to soothe the skin and expedite the recovery process.
2. If the treated area feels like a mild sunburn, you can apply a cool compress.
3. Cleanse the area with tepid warm water and avoid extreme heat, such as hot showers, hot tubs, and saunas for 72 hours after treatment.
4. Allow the eliminated hairs from the treated area to work themselves out naturally, which may take 3-4 weeks. Do not pick or scratch the treated areas.
5. If experiencing in-grown hairs, you may use a gentle exfoliator between treatments.
6. In the rare event of a blister, please contact the office for further instructions.
General Guidelines:
1. Inform us of any medications you are taking, as some can make you photosensitive.
2. Notify us of any history of Gold Therapy.
3. Inform us of any metal plates, screws, or rods in the treatment area.
4. Notify us if you have a history of cold sores in the treatment area.
5. Laser hair removal is not recommended if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or on oral antibiotics.
Cancellation Policy:
If you need to cancel your appointment, kindly provide at least 48 hours’ notice to avoid late cancellation fees, as there is high demand for treatment time.
